johnny

we’ve been doing a lot of thinking and writing these days.  we’ve been spending a lot of time in our secluded studio (and have even taken some time off from playing shows to focus completely on this project.) in the midst of all this thinking and writing something really obvious hit us…

a moment’s worth is a dialogue between us and you guys.

so  we’d love your input as we move forward with these songs.  in the polls/comments below we’d like to hear what you guys think:

My favorite AMW songs are Unsound, Ironic Last Words, Staying Home, and Still. They all get my booty shaking for their own special reasons.

As for the future, I’d like to see an AMW/TCSB east coast tour ;]

    lets make it happen girls

  • Uliana says:

Hey guys! Ow, I’m the first one to comment? hehe, I really should get a life and spend less time behind my computer :P
Well, I haven’t known you for a long time yet, so not sure how objective my comments will be.
    Ehhmm, let’s start:

    # which is your all-time-favorite amw song & why?

Zero Four One!!! Coz… it’s the song that feels like home and REALLY makes you believe when you can not anymore :P
I discovered it on my exam session, when I really felt like I was gonna explode (a long strory). And then I heard this song.. came like a relief  You know what I mean ;)

Oh, and Fight or Flight –love it! Besides, I can totally relate to the story.

    # what’s your favorite lyric?

Too far, too long. I guess I like the songs I can relate to.. Is it just me? o.O

    # which songs do you feel translate the best in our live shows? which don’t?

Never been to your live shows.. But I think songs like Eternal Optimist and Regarding a Great Unrest are awesome for the shows ;) Motivating and all, make you wanna jump up and never stop ;)

    # how do you describe our music to your best friend?

I’d say positive-soft-punk or something.. I usually just say “here’s some nice music for all moods” when I introduce it to my friends

    # or anything else you want to share with us as we move forward with the new songs and ideas.

Not for now, but if I ever get an idea, I’ll let you know ;) I’d really appreciate to see you live though. So aim for Europe for your next tour ;)

  • Stephen says:

Favorite Songs: Too Far, Too Long, as well as Regarding A Great Unrest, All I Say, Cross My Heart, Out of Words, and Memories, Meet Dynamite.
Favorite Lyric: Wow, how’s that possible? In a tie, I guess: “I’m more than any role this world can place on me. And I’m not afraid to die because I’m not afraid to live while I’m alive. When you think of me, always keep those words in your mind.” -or- “We’ll go on with our lives, not afraid to fly though we’re traumatized. All the words that I’ve wanted to say ARE THE WORDS THAT I’M SAYING!”

  • Stephen says:

For some reason the length was cut off in my last comment. For best songs at shows: Regarding a Great Unrest and Unsound I think are best. Wouldn’t mind hearing Rock Star again live; the first time I heard it was at a show and it brought me to tears, and I know I wasn’t the only one who was stunned by how well you performed it. I also think Too Far, Too Long is great at shows but I’m biased (:
And lastly, my description to other people: “In addition to being able to vary their sound while maintaining brilliant lyrics, they write the most honest music I’ve ever heard.”

  • Dylan says:

    1. You guys should come play in Binghamton, NY. They have a small underground scene here called the Binghamton Underground that reminds me a lot of the early stages of the BXUG. I think you guys would be a huge hit up here. If you’re interested talk to me on Facebook and I’ll see if I can get you booked.

    Favorite song? Hand-in-hand

Favorite lyric? It’s so easy to miss you, you’re all that I know, cause I made you mine. I made you my own. Memories Meet Dynamite has some of the best lyrics I’ve ever heard.

Best live songs? Unsound. Cross My Heart. Jumpoff Summer.
Worst live songs? I’m pretty sure you guys have a good sense for the songs that sound good live, so that’s not really an issue.

Describe our music? Ranges from pop-punk to straight up rock with lyrics so meaningful they put Jesse Lacy to shame. Hahaha

  • Heather says:

    1. All time favorite? Cross My Heart… It reminds me of when you guys started and it’s so raw. I love it.
    2. “With our eyes focused on a blue and cloudless summer sky, we stole the coast and saved it in iambic lines. So we waited yesterday but our lives begin this moment as cool ocean wind plays on sun-burnt skin. We’ve set out on sudden whims to give reason for our journey. We’re grateful for what’s been and it’s meant everything to me.” but I also love “These days are flying before my eyes and my life is changing. Sometimes I feel that if I blink too long, I’ll waste a moment. And the future scares me in ways it never has before, what am I doing all this for?” I’m a sucker for the softer songs that you rarely perform.
    3. You guys always have great shows… Clearly, you know what works. It also helps that you have a lot of stage presence.
    4. If i were to describe your music…. I guess I’d tell them that the songs are well-written and they’re performed with a lot of heart… You’re not extremely polished, but that’s sort of what makes you guys so great… If it makes any sense to you, you remind me of home, like the Bronx.
Keep up the great work, and I’m sure youre doing wonderful things in that studio.

  • Paul says:

•Unsound was the first song I heard from you guys and I still love it. A-train rap’s up there too =P
•”A Moment’s Worth is what you make it”-Cross my heart
•My favorite song that you guys do live is probably”Sleepless”
    •KICK ASS
•I think you guys are very diverse in what you do. It’s not like the case where an artist might sound the same in every song. Also just an opinion but I think Johnny’s backup vocals are fucking amazing and I think a song where he lead sings would be pretty awesome too.

  • Nick Quiles says:

My favorite song of all is definately “The Eternal Optimist”. I live by that song daily, I feel it describes me as a person, always being optimistic. With that i must say my favorite lyric is “Still Got My Optimism After All…”

The song I feel translates the most is Unsound, because that song is basically about singing music, i feel it matches the live shows well and also gives off a great energy.

I describe you guys to my best friends like this: “Theyre a fucking awesome local band dude! If you dont listen to them then you might as well live under a rock alone.”

Random bit of info for you guys:
In a few weeks i plan on getting my first tattoo. Its going to be the words “Still Got My Optimism After All…” written around my forearm for two main reasons:
As a sign of my dedication as a fan of yours,to show my thanks for your advice and support of my band (staple remover)
As a daily reminder of the life I choose to live as an optimist…
Those words really mean a lot to me

  • Alexis says:

-which is your all-time-favorite amw song & why?
OMG…. i can’t pick… i love them all… right now my favorites are 2 of your new songs “6am” and “start where you are” are absolutely AMAZING!!! I can’t wait for the new ep so i can wear down that cd on repeat all day everyday!!! Why do i like them?? hmmmm… uh.. cause they are awesome… i love the fact that your songs are different for everyone… if 50 people are at a show and hear you guys play 50 people heard their own song (if that makes sense to you).. anyone can relate to it!!

    -what’s your favorite lyric?
ummm… fave lyric HAHAHA try verse!! right now is from “start where you are”.. Wake from a dream to the smell of summer rain. when we say “always” did we mean “always run away”? St. Marks and 3rd and alcohol. Im coming home to late to call. The books and the cards and the late night drives, how i try to see the future when i search your eyes. Glenn Island park after dark and now i tell myself “Start where you are”
Fucking genius dude… simply genius!! its like you were my stalker or something and followed me around!! uuuuu creepy person!! j/k lol

-which songs do you feel translate the best in our live
    shows? which don’t?
    hmmm…. uhhh… in case you haven’t noticed… i love them all!!!

    - how do you describe our music to your best friend?
or anything else you want to share with us as we move forward with the new songs and ideas.
considering who my best friend (johnny)is… i don’t think that counts lol but what i say to other people is that you are a pop-punk band from the bronx and your music is better than anything on the radio and that anyone who thinks otherwise needs to get real bro…lol

-What I want to see in the future?
a picture of you guys signing a record contract with a U.S. label!!! THAT WOULD BE SICK!!!!!

  • Kathryne says:

Hey you guys r freakin awesome…uh my fav, songs r sleepless, cross my heart, the surgeon…yea i could go on but my fav. lyric= theres no excuse because this life is in my hands (kinda yearbook quote-ish) short but w.e. I told my friends 2 go 2 flc cuz u guys were playin & they ended up liking u 2!! U guys arent rly screamo & not techno either..a good mix =)

  • Danny says:

My favorite songs are “Too Far, Too Long” and “Memories, Meet Dynamite”. Memories is like telling a story, it’s really descriptive. And I can relate to Too Far because of the whole moving away thing.

My favorite lyric is definitely “All our lives we try, to go a little bit faster. Those we leave behind, we plan on seeing them after. But there’s an ocean between us now, and it’s been too long”. This just speaks to me for some reason.

In live shows, I think you guys play “The Eternal Optimist” and “Unsound” the best because of the energy you guys feed off of.

I describe your music as refreshing, new, original, and very literary actually, lol. Your lyrics speak very powerful, and seeing you guys playing live is really entertaining and exciting.

    Keep Being Awesome!
