get reel studios
as fate would have it, we began 2010 with a ton of work and construction. it so happens that the complex where we built our practice room/studio is now a complex we’re running and sharing with our fellow friend bands. what happened? it’s a long story but basically we were faced with a choice to pack up and leave (move again, abandon the room we had built and have made our band home) or stay and help keep the entire place running. we chose the latter.
we called it get reel studios (get it? like reel-to-reel audio?) and you can check out the updates on the get reel studios twitter page. we’ll post the latest (finished!) pics of the studio here soon.
group effort
we’ve been completely amazed by and so grateful for the amount of help we’ve received from our friends in working on the place (everything from putting up sheet rock to painting the walls). you can see them working hard with us in the pictures above. our friends seriously never cease to amaze us. thank you for that!
our good friends at the bronx underground also just launched their own awesome studio and are offering both hourly and monthly rooms for bands to practice at underground music studios. you can follow them on http://twitter.com/BXmusicstudios.
new material update
the process of writing and demo-ing the new songs has been nothing short of amazing so far. we’ve not decided yet just how many songs we’re releasing, what kind of release (ep or full-length), or when exactly the release will be but we’re working as hard as possible to make the best songs we can. if you’re ever in our hood (the pelham bay/bronx area that is), feel free to drop by our studio and hear the work in progress. just shoot us a message first at band@amomentsworth.com to make sure someone’s there or we’re not in the middle of tracking.
be sure to sign up for our mailing list if you haven’t yet done so as that’s how you’ll hear about these songs first:
“when’s your next show!?”
we’ve gotten this one a lot. and we promise you guys that as we get the the bulk of the tracking for the new material out of the way, we’ll be playing more and more shows. and yes, we will be playing an all ages show very soon.
our next show:
Angels & Kings (500 East 11th St. NYC)
21+ w/ our friends Makeshift Lullaby
feb 15th. 7PM. $5

challenge of the week
we were simply blown away by your responses to our permission blog post! thank you so much for all your thoughtful answers & opinions.
here’s a new, simpler question:
how would you describe amw’s music (in 10 words or less)? the most creative response wins a permanent spot on our page, credit, and first dibs (no pun intended) on the new release.
thank you guys for all of your constant love & support! we’ll see you soon.
